Ensemble Opportunities

Spirit and Pride Marching Band

The highly renowned South Fork Spirit and Pride marching band is approximately 110 members strong. This ensemble performs at every home football game and typically two away games. Students in all other ensembles must be a part of this ensemble. Students will be responsible for two after school rehearsals per week, some Friday rehearsal and games, and two Saturday Rehears-A-Thons.

Color Guard

The Band program here at South Fork High School features our incredible color guard and twirling program. Students in this group have the opportunity to hold their heads high as they express themselves through the visual art of dance, twirling, rifle and saber dancing, and flags routines! Students in this ensemble will perform as a part of the Spirit and Pride Marching band and participate in the Solo and Ensemble Festival as a winter guard!

Jazz Band

The Jazz Band is a swingin' group of student who contribute to the community and the school through the medium of Jazz. This Ensemble is audition based where the students will be exposed to a variety of Jazz music in many different genres. The Jazz Band has the honor of being able to play for multiple community events bringing quality music to those who typically don't get to experience it.

Symphonic Band

Symphonic band is our top ensemble which meets during period 1. Class starts promptly at 8:20 AM. This ensemble has the opportunity to play some of the best and most demanding literature known to the band world. The Symphonic Band Performed at the Florida State MPA concert festival this past year. The group has not performed there in the past 14 years.

Concert Band

Concert band is our second ensemble where students can continue to hone their skills and play challenging music. This ensemble meets during period 3. Students in this ensemble will be held to a high standard as they work to grow as musicians.


Beginning Band

South Fork High School is starting a new beginning band for students who have never played an instrument before or are just beginning their musical journey! Students wanting to join this group will not need any prior musical experience. Students will have the opportunity to try out the traditional wind and percussion instruments commonly seen in concert and marching bands.
